Mission Statement
Midlothian Garden club promotes the objectives and projects of National Garden Clubs, Inc., South Atlantic Region Garden Clubs, Virginia Federation of Garden Clubs Inc., and Piedmont District by providing meetings covering these subjects to encourage members and the community to become involved in these projects. We aid in the protection and conservation of our natural resources, encourage civic beauty and roadside beautification, and study the fine art of gardening and floral designing.
Membership
When you become a member of the Midlothian Garden Club, you are a member of a much larger organization; the National Garden Clubs, Inc., Virginia Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc., South Atlantic Region Garden Clubs and Piedmont District which meets monthly in Richmond and is free to all members (SEE: LINKS).
Being a member allows you the opportunity to attend classes on Floral Design, Landscaping and Horticulture. Our monthly meetings have programs to stimulate the knowledge and love of gardening, the art of floral design, conservation and civic improvement. You may participate in field trips to historic sites and gardens.
We have volunteer opportunities in Community Beautification, Garden Therapy, Midlothian Village Day Festival, and many more (SEE: SERVICE PROJECTS).
You may also participate in our bi-annual House and Garden Tour. The proceeds from ticket sales benefit our community.
Dues are $45.00 annually and you must attend three meetings to become a member. We welcome you to get involved in the Midlothian Garden Club.
Meetings
At monthly meetings, members exhibit floral arrangements and interesting horticultural specimens from their gardens. Meetings typically consist of a program and business meeting, followed by a light lunch. Program topics are based on the interests of the membership such as flower-arranging, birds, horticulture, landscaping, gardening, and other related subjects. Meetings are typically held on the first Tuesday of each month, from September to June, at 10:30 AM at Bethel Baptist Church at 1100 Huguenot Springs Rd, Midlothian, VA 23113 (MAP). Enter through doors at the main parking lot covered drop-off. The Midlothian Garden Club will not meet when Chesterfield Count Schools are closed due to inclement weather. See the CALENDAR for exact date, time, location and topic. The Midlothian Garden Club invites you to come anytime, no invitation needed, and visit our next meeting as a guest.
